This week we talked about having confident conversations in life and your career and about how there is never enough time…
I remember when I was so scared to speak up at work or even to a friend about something that was going on in my life. This trait carried over into my business life too. I felt too scared to put myself out there and let others know what I had to offer and how it could benefit them. I was scared they would think I was being too “salesy” or tell me NO!
The truth is, I have been told NO more time than I can count!!! But just like fishing, you don’t give up after casting the line one or two times. You keep going and look for ways to have fun and enjoy the moment until you catch the perfect fish. Not saying that my people are fish, but you get the point. We get too much inside our own heads that we can’t see the bigger picture. I always try to think bigger picture now and each time I get told NO, I rephrase that in my head to “not yet”. Hell, some of my clients have followed me for 6-12 months and told me NO over and over and over again. One day they were ready and said YES. I heard once that you have to see something 7-9 times before you actually consider it which is crazy to me but if you think about it, it’s also very true.
So if you are an entrepreneur, side gig, business owner, or any other type of career woman that deal with customer service or sales, this episode will help you overcome that FEAR of rejection and putting yourself out there. You got this! Keep going. All successful people have failed more times than they have succeed. They just chose not to give up. You aren’t going to give up either.
Ohhhh the story of not enough time. That was my go-to saying a few years ago. I booked my schedule so full that I ran late to everthing and didn’t know where I was going or what I was doing most of the time. I would say “there isn’t enough time in the day” but the truth is that I was not managing my time and energy wisely.
I was running on caffeine and nicotine. It was only a matter of time before I burnt out and my body would start to shut down. I’d intentionally take a day off to just sleep or I’d lay down for a nap and wake up 7 hours later. I was straight up exhausted and this was before having kids. I worked three jobs and played roller derby. I had one full time job and two part time jobs. Do not ask me how I managed because at this point in my life, I was merely surviving…. Not thriving.
There is a HUGE difference. So I want to challenge you to use a few tools out of my toolbox and start energetically managing your time. If your brain is coming up with a million reasons why this wont work, you’re right on track. My brain did the same thing. That’s why it is CRUCIAL to rewire our brain and that’s where someone like me comes in with Coaching. Now, does everyone need a Coach? No, but it sure makes it a hell of lot easier to have someone else call you out of your bullshit and hold you accountable.
I always broke promises to myself. Even when I would put things in the calendar, I wouldn’t do them. I have nobody to hold me accountable or push me to become the best version of myself. I was a quitter through and through. I was tough on the outside, but I was a coward on the inside. Always acting tough and like I had my shit together but I was a fraud. It wasn’t until I dove in and actually did the work that I started to become the person you see today, which is still a work in progress I might add.
I really just want to bring you along on this awesome journey and show you all the things that are possible. In this episode, I walk you through how I plan out my week and write things down while giving myself grace to screw up every now and then. Perfection is a joke and honestly it would be boring if we were all perfect humans walking around like our shit don’t stink. What’s the fun in that?????? There is beauty in imperfection but you can also tweak your imperfections to become a better you. Does this make sense? If not, you’re not alone. It took me so long to wrap my head around personal development and coaching in general….

COURAGE: the ability to do something that frightens one, strength in the face of pain or grief.
