"Old ways won't open new doors"
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone says to me "We've always done things this way".
Ooooookkkkkk. Well let me tell you that it does NOT have to be that way. I am the type of person who needs to know the WHY behind things. You can't just tell me to do something without explaining WHY.
This is why I had such an issue with basically all of the companies I worked for (excluding a couple). I was so tired of "we do things this way because that's the way they are done". It seemed like everyone was just trying to cut corners to save a buck. It didn't seem like anyone TRULY cared about their customers or the lives they were impacting.
I have so many reasons for leaving my full time job to pursue other passions/businesses/etc. But this was one of them. I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore. It started to wear on me mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. It started to weigh on my family. I was angry, hateful and constantly stressed and overwhelmed.
I lived on caffeine, nicotine and booze to get me through each day. Is this how I wanted to live the rest of my life? Each day telling myself I'm one step closer to retirement! HA! I was like 28 years old at the time. That's not even close to retirement but I kept telling myself someday I'll be able to enjoy this "hard work".
Then I heard someone say "why not enjoy it now?" Who says you can't do what you love NOW? I was blown away. Can this be true? Is this really a thing? Short answer, yes. It takes a lot of INNER WORK to figure out these things and you have to overcome a shit ton of limiting beliefs along the way. But true happiness, right here, right now is possible. You don't have to hate your job. You don't have to be stressed. You don't have to be overwhelmed and super angry all the time.
And you don't have to believe me but how cool would it be if you gave it a shot?
