Your Dominant Thoughts Become Your Reality August 6, 2020

Today I want to talk about how we feel about certain words and how that can manifest into our reality.

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know I’m balls deep into the Law of Attraction, manifestation, that your thoughts become your reality, and other things of this nature.

I still don't think that many people grasp the concept of manifestation and resistance and knowing when to lean into fear or when to shy away. This is where it is crucial to connect with your inner guide, your inner spirit, your intuition, or whatever you want to call that being inside of you that tells you if something is a good idea or not.

And I’m not talking about the voice inside your head. That is something totally different that I'm going to call your monkey mind. That’s the thing that tells you stuff like, “This is hard, life sucks, we don't have enough money, nobody cares about me, etc.” That's a monkey mind that tells you bullshit stories that are not true. It’s like a toddler having a tantrum.

Your inner being is that guide, that wise navigation system, the one that says, “Don't go down this creepy dark alley because something bad might happen!” or “You should really join this coaching program because your heart is pulling you in that direction!” or “You should really start that business because that is what really lights you up!” That's your inner being - that thing that just kind of knows what to do next or knows the right answer.

When you connect with your inner being and use it as your guidance system - because that's exactly what it is - it becomes a compass of sorts for your life. Instead of wandering around this planet thinking, “Which direction do I go? Which direction do I go?” Just shut up your monkey mind and look at your compass. Shut up your monkey mind and look at your inner being and it will literally tell you what you need to do next.

When you connect with your inner being it will literally tell you what you need to do, but oftentimes we have a hard time listening to it because we have conditioned ourselves to turn it off based on our belief system around particular topics.

So, for example, I'm going to list some words. Just notice how your monkey mind is going to create stories around these words. You can even take out a piece of paper and write down all of the stories that come up in your mind about these words.

Ready for the words?

  • Money

  • Marriage

  • Health

  • Happiness

  • Parenting

  • Business

These are just a few topics that people have a lot of fear around - fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of judgment, or just fear in general.

We want to make more money. We want to have a business. We want to be a better parent. We want to have a great relationship. We want to travel. We want to do all of these things, yet we fear actually doing these things because we have negative beliefs around them. And if there is something you want in your life but have negative beliefs and thoughts around it … you’re probably never going to get it!

For example, say you want a better marriage but your dominant thoughts are, “I can never connect with my spouse,” or “I’m just waiting for the day that my husband is going to serve me with divorce papers!” or “We never make time for each other,” or “We never have sex,” or “We never talk,” etc … then you HAVE to change the way you think about your marriage if you really do want to have a better marriage! You have to change your thoughts and beliefs in order to take the action needed to improve your marriage.

If you're constantly thinking negative things or you’re desperately clinging to an outcome that you desire, you're going to push it farther away. You have to have a neutral or a positive belief that it is going to happen, otherwise it will not happen. This is how manifestation works!

For example, if you want more money in your life but you're thinking, “I hate money. I'm scared of money. Money is evil,” then you are never going to have more money. I'm just going to say it like it is - you will never have more money because you're dominant thoughts are, “I want more money because I don't have enough. I want more money because my bank account is dwindling.” The feeling behind those thoughts is not positive.

What if you chose better feeling thoughts? What if you said, “Money is all around me and I'm learning ways to attract more into my life”? Instead of thinking, “Man I’m so tired of getting overdraft fees in my bank account,” what if you thought, “I'm glad that I'm aware that I have those overdraft fees now so I can make goals in the future to avoid getting them again.” Instead of, “I wish I could go but I'm just broke,” what if you thought, “I bet I can make more money if I really set my mind to it. I haven't had a budget in a while, so maybe if I budgeted or sold some things that I don’t need or created a business or a service to help other people to attract more money into my life, then I can probably do more of my goals.”

Do you see what I mean here? There's a different energy behind those statements. One feels very hopeless and the other feels very hopeful, right? That's the whole premise of choosing better feeling thoughts. Better feeling thoughts will become actions and those actions will manifest in your reality and your reality will change before you know it. You'll start to call in more money.

I’ve said it before and I'm going to say it again: if you want something bad enough you will find a way to make it happen. Show up for yourself. Stop letting your excuses win all the time.

We all have so many excuses. I don't mean to point the finger, but I'm going to call you out right now because I see it all the time. If you can just see your potential, if you can just shut up long enough to see all of the potential that's right here at your fingertips, then you can do amazing and incredible things that will blow your mind. You can do so many amazing things for yourself, but you are limited by your excuses and by your current beliefs.

If your current beliefs don’t feel good, then choose a better feeling thought! It is a choice to choose a better feeling thought. It is a choice to ask for help. It is a choice to show up for yourself. It is a choice to take care of yourself.

And if the people around you right now are not supporting you, then I'm telling you that you need to find different people. Listen to podcasts, read books, check out people on Instagram that you look up to, and go figure out how to be a part of their energy.

I don’t know why it is, but people don’t change until the pain becomes great enough. Let me repeat that. People don’t change until the pain becomes great enough. I’ve never talked to somebody who has been like, “I’m just content but I want a little bit of change.” No! You’re not going to do the work. You have to want change. You have to have a fire under your ass to make change happen. You have to be done with the bullshit.

Show up for yourself. If you want something you will find a way to make it happen. Find your support system. Get an accountability partner. Hire a coach. Everybody needs a mentor. Everybody needs a safe space where they can go and say things, receive support, and also have their ass handed to them if they need it.

If you don’t have great support in your life, or you don’t want to burden your family or friends, but you do want to create change in your life, then you need to hire somebody. I don’t know how else to say it. That’s what I did, and that’s what you probably need to do too. You need to hire somebody or go to some sort of counseling or therapy. Nobody can do this alone. I’m going to repeat that. Nobody can do this alone!

You guys have been following me for a while and you probably know that I work with Heather Chauvin. She kicks my ass quite a bit in terms of life and business and she makes me show up for myself. I work with a spiritual life coach who also makes me show up for myself. I have a lot of support in my life. They don’t take the action for me, but they hold me accountable to taking action in my own life.

Take some time to sit down and journal about the belief topics I listed above and see what your thoughts are around them. If they don’t feel good, then do what you need to do to change them. I’ve already given you a ton of resources in here, such as Abraham Hicks (they have a podcast and YouTube videos that you can listen to for free!). There are a million coaches out there who are willing to help you.
