What does it mean to be “high vibe?” You hear this a lot. You see it on social media and on shirts. But what does it actually mean?
I think a lot of people don’t understand what a vibration truly is. A vibration is a way to measure an energy source - think of a radio frequency or of how the vibrations from earthquakes are measured by the Richter scale. There are different ways to track vibration.
Each and every thing in this world has an energetic vibration to it. EVERYTHING! Everything on our planet is from this higher source called energy, and therefore literally everything has this energy source running to it and through it.
So we see people talking about being a part of the “high vibe tribe” and we think, “How do I join this tribe? How can I raise my vibration?” I want to break it down for you in an easy to process way.
One way that I think about this is by looking at the foods you put into your body. Every time food is touched during the production process, its vibration is lowered. Therefore, highly processed foods have a low vibration. On the other hand, if you’re picking fresh food right out of your garden and eating them right away, those foods will have a high vibration because the cells within them are still alive and growing.
Does this make sense?
It’s the same thing with people. If you know people in your life who are constantly complaining, finger-pointing, or blaming others for their problems, they are consumed with this lower vibrational energy. Think about it. Think about how you feel. A high vibe person is happy, light-hearted, radiant, and energetic.
So how do you begin to shift your vibration from low to high? Well you have to take a look at what you consume in your life on all levels.
To start, think of how you wake up in the mornings. How are you “consuming” your mornings? Do you wake up feeling chaotic because you’re being woken up by your screaming kids or by your dogs? That’s pretty low vibe. Or are you waking up with the intention of taking time to yourself and recharging your own battery before you start your day? That’s a much higher vibe!
What is the vibe of the “things” you surround yourself with? Are you sleeping on cheap synthetic sheets or on higher-quality, naturally-sourced sheets? What is the quality of your clothing? Are you wearing clothes that make you feel good? What about your skin products, hair products, food, etc?
I’m not saying that everything you use has to be super-high quality, but the things you consume do matter!
Do you watch the news? Do you spend a lot of time on social media? What about podcasts, audiobooks, and books? This is all consumption too, so make sure that the information you’re taking in is high quality and is making you feel good!
Do you spend time in nature? How often do you take time to just sit outside and listen to the birds? Have you walked on the grass barefoot lately? These things will ground you and help to boost your vibration.
Think about the people who are in your life. Are the people around you uplifting, energizing, and make you feel better when you’re around them? Or do they make you feel worse?
Every time you have an interaction with anybody or anything, it can raise or lower your vibration. EVERYTHING affects your vibration!
Hopefully these examples gave you an idea of where you’re at and where you want to be with your vibration. Are you close to where you want to be? Are you on the pathway there? Or do you feel so far from where you want to be?
So how do we shift our energy to become higher vibe? Do things that make you feel good as often as you can.
I’ll give you some ideas here that you can try out and see if they work for you. Go for a walk. Unplug and reconnect with yourself. Eat as many real foods as possible - I’m talking fruits, vegetables, and anything that doesn’t come out of a box. Pay attention to what you’re consuming and how it makes you feel. Meditate. Choose better feeling thoughts. Spend time in nature.
Try it out and see how it goes!
